در داستان ویس و رامین (مربوط به دوران اشکانی)، ویس (دختر ایرانی) پشت پرده نشسته و بر صورت خود نقاب دارد.

Vīs is not only sitting behind curtains (parda) but also wearing a veil (neqāb) on her face.
